Bricks in the Wall!

I’m currently reading “The Ascension Mysteries” by David Wilcock, and near the beginning of the book there’s a cool quote. This nugget of wisdom came from the author’s mother, Marta Waterman, who believed in the importance of being a good person and being kind to others. She said:Β

“Whether we realize it or not, each of us is here to build houses, one brick at a time. Every time we think a loving thought, or do a good thing for someone, we add another brick to the wall. Every time we have a hateful thought, or hurt someone, we take a brick away.”

This is a great way to think about it! We do so many things and think so many thoughts in a day that it’s hard to believe any of them have much importance. But just like each small brick is vitally important to the strength and stability of a house, each tiny thought, word, and action can add up to big shifts in our mentality and our lives.

We should make sure that we’re adding more bricks to the wall, instead of taking them away. If we can change our mindset to kindness and positivity, think of the houses we can build! πŸ™‚

Free Self-Improvement Kindle books!

Many libraries are beginning to loan out e-books, though the selection may be a little small. Fortunately, there are hundreds of free e-books just waiting to be found online! I went on a search and found a selection of self-improvement Kindle e-books on Amazon that are currently FREE.

As they are probably promotions, these books may not stay free for long, so grab them while you can. πŸ˜‰ I haven’t read these yet (I just downloaded them myself), but they sound like helpful and informative reads. Click “buy on Amazon” on the links below to get to each book’s listing.

If you read any of these books, let me know what you think! πŸ™‚

Sikh “Gift to the Planet”!

This November will be the 550th birthday of Guru Nanak, the founder of India’s Sikh religion. In celebration, Sikhs are undertaking a project to plant 1,000,000 trees all over the world!

The project, coordinated by EcoSikh, is described as “a gift to the entire planet”, and is intended to slow climate change and help reconnect people with nature. Most of the trees will be planted in India, but there are also some being planted in other parts of the world as well. They plan to use species of trees and shrubs native to the area, which provides food and shelter to local wildlife.

They are also working with Afforestt, an organization that promotes the planting and care of mini-forests, and plan to have the project completed by Guru Nanak’s birthday in November.

This is so inspiring! The whole Earth and everyone on it will benefit from this wonderful project!

11 Year Old Crochet Prodigy!

When most people think of crochet, they probably picture little old ladies…but this young boy is busting stereotypes and giving to charity at the same time!

11-year old Jonah Larson has a passion for crochet, and incredible skills to go along with it. His interest began at only 5 years old, where he used a YouTube tutorial to crochet his first project – a dishcloth. Since then, he has created hundreds of items and received orders from all over the world.

Best of all, Jonah gives a lot of his earnings to charity. He was adopted from an orphanage in Ethiopia, and loves to send funds back to them to help other children. He also has a GoFundMe page for RootsEthiopia, a non-profit that helps local schools buy supplies.

One of his videos has a quote from Jonah that I love: “Very frequently on the news, there’s a lot of bad things happening in the world. But thankfully, there’s a lot of good things too. This coming 2019, I’m going to focus on the good things, not the bad things you see on the news. And I hope you do too.” What a great attitude to have!

Jonah seems wise beyond his years, and his dedication and giving spirit is an inspiration to us all!Β
