Bricks in the Wall!

I’m currently reading “The Ascension Mysteries” by David Wilcock, and near the beginning of the book there’s a cool quote. This nugget of wisdom came from the author’s mother, Marta Waterman, who believed in the importance of being a good person and being kind to others. She said:

“Whether we realize it or not, each of us is here to build houses, one brick at a time. Every time we think a loving thought, or do a good thing for someone, we add another brick to the wall. Every time we have a hateful thought, or hurt someone, we take a brick away.”

This is a great way to think about it! We do so many things and think so many thoughts in a day that it’s hard to believe any of them have much importance. But just like each small brick is vitally important to the strength and stability of a house, each tiny thought, word, and action can add up to big shifts in our mentality and our lives.

We should make sure that we’re adding more bricks to the wall, instead of taking them away. If we can change our mindset to kindness and positivity, think of the houses we can build! 🙂

Manifestation in Action #2!

I wrote a few months ago about an accidental manifestation I experienced, and today it happened again! 😀

I’ve been looking into getting some probiotics, which are good bacteria that colonize your intestines and help you digest food and absorb nutrients. My mother overheard me talking about it and checked out the probiotic supplements at a local store yesterday…she came back disappointed at the high prices.

She insisted that they weren’t worth it, but I argued that our health is so important that I would be willing to get some even if it was a pinch on the wallet.

While I was out today, my intuition insisted that I stop at Kroger and get some things that were on my grocery list. To my surprise and delight, there in the middle of the store was a clearance rack. And guess what I found on clearance? You guessed it, probiotics!

I found two bottles of chewable probiotic supplements, as well as some green superfood powder with probiotics included. All of them were deeply discounted from the regular shelf price.

I believe the universe nudged me to the store that day to find these discounted items because I had made the decision to get them no matter what. I put my health first, and the universe tossed a little help into my path. 🙂

Put your needs and desires out to the universe, and let it help you achieve them! Be sure to listen to your intuition as well; it’s there to guide you. It never hurts to try!

Teacher Spotlight – Abraham Hicks

One of my favorite teachers in the area of positivity and good living is Abraham Hicks. Esther Hicks is a medium who appears to be able to mentally channel “Abraham”, a group of non-physical entities, and pass on their teachings. Now, that’s a big claim – to be able to talk to inter-dimensional beings – and it’s natural to be skeptical! But what I’ve found is that, regardless of where they come from, the lessons taught by Esther/Abraham are genuinely good and useful.

Abraham teaches that your thoughts and emotions help determine what happens in your life, good or bad. You have the choice to dwell on negative and unwanted thoughts, or to keep your focus on positive, hopeful ones. By keeping your thoughts and emotions positive, you send out energy that attracts positive things to you.

Whether or not you believe in the Law of Attraction, which is what this philosophy is generally known as, it’s clear that this way of thinking can lead to a much better life. Dwelling on sadness, fear, shame, and other negative emotions can only keep you down. No one has a good life when they’re huddled in a corner feeling miserable. By focusing on the good, you put yourself in a better state of mind and body and are more likely to move forward and succeed.

If I have a criticism of Abraham, it’s that they talk in a very verbose, meandering kind of way that’s sometimes hard to understand at first. It took me a few talks to click with the style of speaking and really get what they’re saying. But once you get used to the speaking style, there’s a ton of great information there.

I encourage everyone to check out some of Abraham’s teachings! I’ve found the advice to be very useful. There are lots of talks on YouTube, and plenty of books as well, if you prefer reading.

I hope everyone has a fantastic day! 🙂

Manifestation in Action!

I had a cool little manifestation happen today! I was browsing amazon this morning and window shopping; just filling up my wish list with cool things I would like to have. I like to paint, so I browsed the art supplies and added a few items.

One of the things I spent some time looking at were easels. So far all of my painting has been done flat on a table, so I looked at some easels and put a couple of them on my wish list just for fun.

Later in the day, I took a trip to Michael’s to restock on canvases. I had planned on buying a multipack of 12×12 or so sized canvases, because it’s a good bargain to buy them in bulk. Lo and behold, they were having a special – buy a multipack of any sized canvas, and get a small table easel for free!

I put out the desire to have an easel, and the universe helped me get one! And it didn’t cost a thing, because it was a reward for buying something I was going to buy anyway.

It’s thrilling to see the law of attraction in action! Let’s all get to work manifesting all kinds of good things. 🙂

A Wrinkle in Time and Consciousness

I saw the new movie A Wrinkle in Time over the weekend. I read the book as a child (fourth or fifth grade, I think?), but I don’t remember much about it, so the movie was basically new to me. I was surprised to see that the story revolves around several ideas of consciousness that I’ve been learning a lot about lately.

wrinkle

The main plot happens because of quantum physics, when the lead character’s father finds a way to use vibration to travel across space. Vibration is the cornerstone of theories of consciousness and law of attraction, since every thought and emotion we have creates a vibration that is transmitted out into the universe, which the universe then responds to with a matching vibration. Scientists in the film also touch on quantum entanglement, which is the ability of two related particles to interact even across vast distances.

The main villain is a dark creature that infects societies with negativity, which spreads and multiplies and slowly tears people apart. This also relates to theories of consciousness, because negativity and positivity can be spread through our group consciousness and affect the overall energy level of the human race.

I thought it was interesting to see these ideas in a kid’s movie! They aren’t explored very deeply, as this is mostly a fantasy adventure film, but it’s still cool that these concepts are being introduced to a young audience. Hopefully they will look into it and learn about the power of thought early on, and not wait until middle age like me! 😛

The day Jupiter saved our butts!

I’ve always been fascinated with outer space, and lately I’ve been watching YouTube videos about comets and asteroids, and how they may have affected life on Earth through the eons. Almost everyone knows about the most famous impact, the meteor that slammed into the Yucatan and ended the reign of the dinosaurs 65 million years ago. But objects have been pelting our planet for a long time.

comet4

Back in the mid 90s, when I was just finishing high school, I remember hearing about a comet called Shoemaker-Levy 9. At the time I was busy with worrying about my GPA and applying to college, so I didn’t pay much attention. Sure, comet passing by, cool, but I have stuff to do!

comet3

A couple of decades later, I encountered some discussions of this particular comet in some videos. In July 1994, Shoemaker-Levy 9, which was discovered by Carolyn and Eugene Shoemaker and David Levy, zoomed into our solar system, broke apart into 21 pieces, and crashed into Jupiter. The explosions caused by the impacts, which were observed and photographed by NASA, were astounding – each explosion was literally LARGER THAN PLANET EARTH.

comet5

Which means if any of the comet fragments had hit our planet, we wouldn’t be here now. Seriously. Earth would have been completely obliterated, leaving nothing but dust and vapor. YIKES.

The reason they didn’t hit us was because of the influence of Jupiter. Jupiter is the largest planet in our solar system, and its gravity is so strong that most comets and asteroids that fly through the solar system are pulled off course. There are hundreds, if not thousands, of instances through Earth’s history when deadly objects that could have hit us were pulled away or deflected instead. Shoemaker-Levy was just one recent example.

So, in other words, Jupiter saved our butts from total annihilation in 1994. And probably many other times too!

So the next time you look up into the sky, give a word of thanks for the largest planet in our solar system. Because of Jupiter’s protective influence, we still have a beautiful, vibrant planet to call home!
